The complete genome sequences of two grapevine virus L (GVL) isolates collected from the wine grape cultivar Blanc du Bois (Vitis spp. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/Furosemide(Lasix).html 'Florida D 6-148'×'Cardinal') in Texas were determined. The two genome sequences (excluding the polyA tail) were each 7594 nucleotide long and 99.7% identical to each other, but they shared only ~74% identity with those of previously published GVL isolates. Further analysis showed that the two Texas GVL isolates also diverged significantly from previously published isolates of the virus in each of the five ORFs at both the nucleotide and amino acid level, indicating that they represent a new phylogroup of this virus. In this report we describe the genotype constellation of a bovine rotavirus A (RVA) strain with an uncommon G8P[11] genotype combination. The RVA/Cow-wt/BRA/Y136/2017/G8P[11] strain was classified as G8-P[11]-I2-R5-C2-M2-A3-N2-T9-E2-H3. Phylogenetic analysis based on the VP7 gene showed that the Y136 strain and a human G8P[1] strain comprise a putative new (VII) lineage for the G8 genotype. In addition, two other genotypes, R5 (VP1) and T9 (NSP3), were identified in the constellation of Y136 that are rarely found in RVA strains of bovine origin. The immunological pressure caused by regular vaccination of cows might be responsible for the selection of heterologous RVA strains. This study was conducted to develop a short form of the Interpersonal Sensitivity Measure (IPSM), translated into Chinese. A total of 1237 Chinese undergraduates, divided into four groups, participated during various phases of scale development. Exploratory factor analysis supported a five-factor structure of the IPSM-C among Chinese undergraduates, which is in accordance with the original model established by Boyce and Parker that contained 36 items. We next developed a 15-item short form of the IPSM (IPSM-CS) whose structural validity was comparable to the full form. All IPSM-CS sub-scales, as well as the total scale, showed good internal consistency, test-retest reliability and criterion-related validity. The present results indicate that the IPSM-CS may be a useful and reliable alternative to the original IPSM for individuals fluent in Chinese.Specialized early interventions (SEI) for individuals diagnosed with a first episode of psychosis (FEP) are effective treatment modalities (Azrin et al. in Psychiatr Ann 45(11)548, https//doi.org/10.3928/00485713-20151103-05, 2015). SEI offered immediately or shortly following a first episode improves functional and clinical outcomes for those individuals with, and at risk for, serious mental illness (SMI; Correll et al. in JAMA Psychiatry 75(6)555-565, https//doi.org/10.1001/jamapsychiatry.2018.0623, 2018). In the United States, SEI programs referred to as Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC), have been utilized to provide a beneficial, team-based, multi-component method of treating FEP. However, despite the success, CSC programming is still met with considerable challenges. This article reviews existing CSC literature to identify and explore relevant barriers to successful implementation of CSC. Identified barriers include stigma, cultural competence, disengagement, measurement and evaluation, workforce development, implementation in rural areas, and financial stability. The ongoing efforts to address these barriers are described and areas for continued improvements are discussed.Purpose of review In this review, we summarize current evidence on gut microbiome and obesity; we discuss the role of probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, and postbiotics in obesity prevention and management; and we highlight and analyze main limitations, challenges, and controversies of their use. Recent findings Overall, the majority of animal studies and meta-analyses of human studies examining the use of probiotics and synbiotics in obesity has shown their beneficial effects on weight reduction and other metabolic parameters via their involvement in gut microbiota modulation. Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus strains are still the most widely used probiotics in functional foods and dietary supplements, but next generation probiotics, such as Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, Akkermansia muciniphila, or Clostridia strains, have demonstrated promising results. On the contrary, meta-analyses of human studies on the use of prebiotics in obesity have yielded contradictory results. In animal studies, postbiotics, macts as well as their safety profile in the prevention and management of obesity. With global warming as a major environment concern over the coming years, heat tolerance is an important trait for forest tree survival during the predicted future warmer weather conditions. Cryptomeria japonica is a coniferous species widely distributed throughout Japan, and thus, can adapt to a wide range of air temperatures. To elucidate genes involved in heat response in Cryptomeria japonica, transcriptome analysis was conducted for seedlings under heat shock conditions. To test whether heat acclimation affects levels of gene expression, half of the seedlings were pretreated with moderately high temperatures prior to heat shock. De novo assembly of the transcriptome generated 107,924 unigenes and the analysis of differentially expressed genes was conducted using these unigenes. A total of 5217 differentially expressed genes were identified. Most genes upregulated by heat shock, regardless of pre-heat treatment, were conserved to heat response genes of angiosperm species, such as heat shock factors (Hsf) and heat shock proteins (Hsp). Pre-heating of seedlings affected expression levels of several Hsfs and their induction was lower in pre-heated seedlings than in seedlings without pre-heat treatment. This suggests a conserved role of Hsfs in heat response and heat acclimation in seed plants. On the other hand, many unknown genes were upregulated in only seedlings without pre-heat treatment after heat exposure. Notably, expression of gypsy/Ty3 type retrotransposons was dramatically induced. These findings provide valuable information to develop a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms of heat response and acclimation in C. japonica.
